Privacy
Last updated November 2026.
Ham Club is operated by the same people as QSL World. This notice covers the app and hamclubapp.com; the QSL World account you sign in with is covered by QSL World's privacy policy.
What is stored
Club records entered by the club's officers: the roster (callsign, name, contact details, licence class, standing, rank, roles, notes), membership types and payments, events and attendance, documents and assets, skills, elections (who was issued a ballot and whether it was cast; never how anyone voted), announcements and who received them, and an audit log of changes. Club account records: the plan, the provider's subscription identifiers, and the club's domain and mailbox addresses. Club payment credentials (the club's own PayPal or Stripe keys) and mailbox passwords waiting to be picked up are stored encrypted and are never shown again.
What is not stored
Card numbers and bank details: payments happen at PayPal or Stripe, which tell us only that a payment succeeded. Your own logbook is not part of the club's records; the club sees the club's log.
Where and how long
On QSL World's servers, for as long as the club keeps its account, plus a retention period for backups. A club that closes its account can ask for its records to be deleted; the audit log and payment ledger are kept as long as the law requires.
The club sends you mail through Ham Club. Every such message carries an unsubscribe link; automatic notices about your own membership (receipts, your own renewal) are sent regardless, because they are the service.
On your computer
The app keeps your sign-in, window positions and, if you use Mail, your mail accounts and messages on your computer, filed per operator, encrypted with a key kept beside them. Nothing on your computer is read by anyone else.
Who sees club records
The club's officers, according to their roles; members, according to what the club's ranks allow them to see; and our staff when a club asks for support or the law requires it.
